Our Saltwater Pool
We invite you to relax in our saltwater pool, a treatment system that makes it more ecological, sustainable, and significantly friendlier to both the environment and your skin.
Since we are located in a rural and countryside setting, it is perfectly normal for the breeze and wind to blow some leaves or small insects into the water. To help keep the area always pleasant and clean:

Automatic Circulation: The water circulation and filtration jets operate fully automatically every day between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM (08:00 to 20:00).

Cleaning Net: We have left a surface net by the pool, ready to be attached to the telescopic pole. You are free to use it whenever necessary to quickly scoop out any leaves and insects that fall into the water.
Our Garden and Watering System
Our lawn and garden feature an automatic watering system that runs every day at midnight (00:00). If you plan to enjoy the outdoors and the tranquility of the night, we recommend that you do not stay on the lawn during the watering time to avoid accidentally getting wet.
Neighborhood Cats
You might spot some neighborhood cats wandering through our garden. They are very sweet and friendly, but we kindly ask you not to feed them, otherwise they will remain at the house.

⚠️ Machine Safety and Maintenance:
To ensure safe use and avoid system blockages, please keep the following care in mind:

🔄 Automatic Ejection: The machine ejects the pod automatically after extraction. You do not need to try to remove it manually.

⚠️ Wait before Handling: If you need to touch the pod after ejection, please wait a few moments. It comes out at a very high temperature and can cause burns.

❌ Blockage due to full pod container: The machine will stop working if the used pod container is full. Please empty it regularly.

💧 Water Tank: Always keep the tank filled with clean water and never turn on the machine with an empty tank.

🚗 Mandatory Parking Rule
Please always park your vehicle facing outwards (reverse parking) towards the exit gate. This ensures a quick departure in an emergency.
🚨 WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY?
🔥 Fire Inside the House: If it is a small kitchen fire, smother it with the fire blanket (never use water on oil). If there is heavy smoke, leave immediately by crawling low, close the doors, and go to the Assembly Point.
🌲 Forest Fire: If you see smoke nearby, close all windows and shutters. If authorities order an evacuation, drive calmly towards the center of Vila Verde.
🌧️ Floods / Severe Weather: If water enters the house, turn off the main power (if safe) and go to the upper floor with your belongings. Do not cross flooded areas by foot or car.
🫨 Earthquake: During the shaking, do not run outside. Protect yourself under a sturdy table or doorway. After the shaking stops, go to the outdoor Assembly Point.

HOUSE RULES AND STAY REGULATIONS (Summary)
Occupancy, Exclusivity & Visitor Policy
The property, its amenities, and leisure areas are for the strict and exclusive use of the guests formally registered in the booking; visitors outside the reservation are not allowed. To safeguard your privacy and security, any exception for guests, visitors, or external suppliers requires prior and express written authorization from the host.
The absolute maximum capacity of the property is 8 guests. Additionally, the contracted rate corresponds to the exact number of guests declared at the time of booking. The presence or overnight stay of undeclared persons or anyone exceeding the maximum limit constitutes a serious breach of contract, subject to a supplementary fee of €100 per person/night, or the immediate termination of the stay without refund.
Mandatory Legal Registration (In-Person Check-in): By legal requirement in Portugal, all occupants of the property (including minors) must present their identification document (Passport or National ID Card) to our team during the in-person check-in.
Security and Exterior Video Surveillance: For the protection and safety of people and property, the accommodation is equipped with a video surveillance system that captures and records images, strictly limited to the exterior access areas. The processing of these images is based on the legitimate interest of the owner to ensure the security of the estate and the users of the space, operating in strict compliance with the GDPR.
Harmony with the Neighborhood: We kindly request respect for the neighbors' rest, avoiding excessive noise or parties, especially between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
Children must always be under adult supervision to ensure their safety, especially when using high-risk areas such as the swimming pool, stairs, balconies, and garden.
The guest is responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings during the stay and must ensure that doors and windows are locked when leaving the property.
Garbage Removal: Waste separation for recycling must be ensured using the bins available in the accommodation, and removed daily to be deposited in the appropriate public containers, according to the location instructions provided in the property.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in all indoor areas of the house and in the swimming pool area.
Pets are not allowed.
Parties are not allowed.

The municipality of Vila Verde, due to its antiquity and rich cultural heritage, possesses a vast patrimony reflected in archaeological remains, civil and religious architecture, typical rural complexes, ethnographic aspects of folk culture, craftsmanship, traditional gastronomy, lush landscapes, and the rivers that cross it.
Festivals and pilgrimages are among the many expressions of the local inhabitants' religiosity. They are characterized by both religious and pagan manifestations, which coexist in harmony and complement each other. About one hundred and fifty of these festive and religious events take place throughout the year in the chapels and churches of the municipality, showcasing the community’s vibrancy and devotion, as well as their commitment to preserving their cultural heritage and passing down ways of living and feeling to new generations.
The fairs, held weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annually, along with cultural events and various thematic exhibitions, demonstrate a strong commitment to the cultural, social, and economic development of the region. Handicrafts are increasingly prominent in the municipality, given their growing economic importance, the preservation of ancestral manufacturing techniques, and innovation in the creation of new products.
The “Lenços de Namorados” (Lovers’ Handkerchiefs), traditional linen items, rag weaving, miniature wooden toys, handcrafted wooden figurines and toys, ox-hide saddle blankets and harnesses, musical instruments, pottery, hand-painted ceramics, and granite pieces are some of the highly artisanal products. The natural environment offers numerous leisure activities, including hiking, jeep rides, cycling (mountain biking), and hunting.
The Cávado and Homem rivers provide excellent conditions for canoeing and sport fishing, and there are splendid river beaches along their banks. Visiting Vila Verde allows you to engage with its people, stay in a welcoming atmosphere, such as rural tourism accommodations, and enjoy the flavors and traditions of our local cuisine.
